Ballet Dance Shoes

Ballet dance shoes are generally made from either satin or leather depending on the designer. They have a slipper like appearance and have a soft cotton lining for added comfort. They have an elastic band rather than laces as a means to keep the shoe stationary during a performance.

Ballet dance shoes are a necessary element in participating in this dance. They enable a dancer to make and complete turns, as well as provide a protective barrier between their feet and the hardwood. It also offers a bit of padding when performing and landing leaps.

Ballet dance shoes can also be Pointe slippers. This is a type of shoe that enables a dancer to rise to the very tips of their toes and dance. They are made with a hardened square tip providing the toes with support, and also to offer a flat surface to dance on. They have special support for the arches as well. Pointe is a skill that is hard to master, and even harder, if not impossible to do without the correct footwear.
