Dance Clothes
Dance clothes can either be the attire worn during practice or that which is worn during a performance. However, generally speaking, whether during practice or a performance, clothing should fit comfortably and allow for unrestricted movement to take place. This is one of the most important aspects of clothing attire, as it can ruin a performance to have a wardrobe malfunction.
Dance clothes worn during practice often consist of a more casual feel. Depending on the genre, dancers may wear sweats and a t-shirt, or a more closely related performance outfit. Hip hop dancers will generally be wearing clothing with a very casual feel, whereas, a ballet dancer will be in tights and a leotard.
Dance clothes for a performance are usually a part of the overall production. In a partner dance, the woman’s clothing is generally flashier than her partner, and is used as a way to draw attention to her movements. Clothing shares a large role in the production of a show, as it is used as a message portrayer along with the actual dance itself.
