Irish Dance Shoes

Irish dance shoes are completely necessary to participate. This style of dancing is most commonly recognized by people as the River Dance. It has a combination of certain aspects from different dances, although, it didn’t originate from them.

Irish dance shoes are used to offer the feet protection. Although there isn’t any tumbling or high jumps, the feet are constantly moving and hitting the floor. This type of dance is very upbeat and is completed entirely with the feet, making it necessary for them to be supported through the different movements.

Irish dance shoes not only offer the feet protection, but they also help provide a sound when the foot strikes the floor. Although there isn’t a plate attached to the bottom of the shoe, this style of dancing is what it is because of the sound the foot makes as it strikes the ground, much like tap dancing. Without special footwear, the feet would become tiresome and injured due to the contact with the ground.
