Latin Dance

Latin dance includes several different genres that originated in relatively the same area. Latin American and the Caribbean islands are known to have been the originating locations for dances such as: the salsa, cha cha cha, and the rumba. Each of these specific types all share the same general up beat tempo.

Latin dance is generally lively and very rhythmic, but can also be tamed for ballroom style. Depending on the style, different forms of attire may be required; however, generally speaking, it is flashy and demands attention. They may be bold in color, but they should all allow for movement to take place as the Latin genre, as noted before, is very rhythmic.

Latin dance has a very traditional feel, and may be hard to master alone. If interested in participating, research different instructors skilled in this genre for help. It may be more expensive than learning from a video; however, they will provide hands on support and give feedback, allowing for improvement.
